NEWS. GOOD MORNING. I’M ALEX DURHAM. WE WANT TO WELCOME SOME SPECIAL GUESTS HERE. WE HAVE SANTA AND WE HAVE MISTLETOE THE ELF WITH KROGER, THEIR VOLUNTEERS, AND THEY’RE HERE TO TALK ABOUT THE GIVE A CHILD A SMILE PROGRAM. SO, SANTA, YOU WANT TO START US OFF WITH EXACTLY WHAT THAT IS? SO ADDIE WORLD WORKS WITH CHILDREN ACROSS THE SPECTRUM OF AUTISM. THEY HAVE A HOLISTIC AND AN ARTISTIC PROGRAM THAT THEY USE TO HELP THE CHILDREN. IT’S AN ORGANIZATION THAT’S RUN BY VOLUNTEERS AND OPERATED BY VOLUNTEERS. COMING UP THE 9TH OF DECEMBER, WE’RE GOING TO BE OVER AT THE CHESTNUT STREET YMCA, HANDING OUT MEAL BOXES AND TALK TO ME ABOUT THESE MEAL BOXES. WHAT’S THE PURPOSE OF THEM AND WHAT’S INSIDE? MAYBE MISTLETOE. YOU WANT TO HELP ME OUT? SO ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER THE 9TH, WE WILL BE OVER AT THE CHESTNUT STREET FAMILY YMCA. FROM 3 TO 5. WE HAVE FOR THE THINGS WE’RE GOING OUT FOR THE CHILDREN. WE JUST NEED THE PEOPLE WHO ARE REGISTERED TO PLEASE BRING ONE REPRESENTATIVE WHO HAS A FULL MASK COVERING AND A VALID ID TO PICK UP THEIR BOXES IN THE BOXES THEY HAVE A CHILD APPROPRIATE AGE TOYS AS WELL AS A FAMILY CHRISTMAS MEAL FOR A FAMILY OF FOUR. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR THE FAMILIES WHO DO RECEIVE THESE? IT’S ABOUT PUTTING A SMILE ON A CHILD’S FACE, AND THERE’S NOTHING WE CAN DO MORE THIS YEAR THAN TO PUT A SMILE ON A CHILD’S FACE. AND YOU GUYS ARE VOLUNTEERS. WHY DO YOU STAY INVOLVED? BECAUSE IT IS SO NICE TO JUST SEE BRINGING SMILES TO THE COMMUNITY AND BACK TO THE FAMILIES, BECAUSE SOME OF THESE PEOPLE DON’T GET THAT THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. AND IT’S JUST NICE TO BE PART OF SOMETHING TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY. WHAT’S THAT ATMOSPHERE GOING TO BE LIKE ON THAT SATURDAY AT CHESTNUT YMCA WHEN THESE FAMILIES ARE PICKING UP THESE BOXES? IT’S GOING TO BE REPRESENTED WITH LOVING AND CARING, REACHING OUT PEOPLE, SHARING SMILES. AND IF PEOPLE ARE LISTENING TO THIS AND THEY THINK, OH, THAT SOUNDS REALLY COOL, HOW HOW CAN I HELP OUT? IS THERE A WAY? SURE. ALL THEY NEED TO DO IS GO TO ADDIE WORLD.ORG OR THEY CAN CALL 83338 AUTISM AND WE’LL BE THERE TO HELP THEM
