Our first dogs are ready to be adopted!!
It’s hard to believe, but Rhode Home Rescue is up and running! I’d like to thank Dina McCaffrey and everyone...
5 stars!
I discovered RI Home Rescue outside of the pet store with 10 big, happy dogs and my now buddy, a little Lhasa Apso named Arthur. It was clear that each pup was well cared for and loved in their foster home as they awaited rehoming into their forever homes. They org does great work and I'm thrilled to have found them.
A Wonderful rescue organization Incase your wondering where to adopt from. I have first hand experience with RHR. Two yrs ago we adopted Petey, a Lil guy who looks like a mix of Chihuahua and dachshund. He was 3 at the time, found on the streets of Arkansas and his front right leg clearly had been broken in the past and never set medically to heal right. He still uses it but holds it up when he runs causing his Lil ears to flop(so cute) as he hops along. We were worried the leg would become increasing painful and need Orthopedic surgery. RHR was prepared to cover the cost of whatever treatment was recommended by the Vets! I was shocked and impressed with the professionalism. We believe , from what we have seen that he experienced a home at some point in the past with domestic abuse 🙁 but after 2 yrs Petey appears happy and secure with me. He still does not trust his human daddy completely and seems to think that violence could come from him at any time (even though it never has) unless he is sitting or laying down at which time Petey will slowly creep to him and get pets and snuggles, the minute his dad goes to get up though Petey turns into a rocket and runs for his life! And it’s been 2 years. ADOPTION: Some may think the adoption fee is too much however if you think about what it takes to keep RHR going , transport of dogs from around the country, Freq adoption events, Vet bills, employee wages and the ability to take responsibility for any special vet needs or surgeries that the pups may need to ensure it doesn’t fall on the new owners. Wow. This is the longest review ever but I am so grateful for RHR and all organizations like them for helping all of the dogs in need, having a fur baby is amazing they give us unconditional love only asking for the same, and the therapy/stress release gained from just sitting with your furbabies and petting them is priceless.
PLEASE ADOPT ( as long as your prepared for the responsibility) and treat them like your furry babies. ??#lovedogs
It was a pleasure working with Rhode Home Rescue to find our next family member. We adopted a labra-dane mix who we've named Maggie and who fits right into the family! After searching for a couple of weeks, we felt most comfortable dealing with RHR and their outstanding staff of foster parents who graciously volunteer their homes to these animals in need. Thank you Rhode Home Rescue!
Poor communication skills - got different information from everyone we were in contact with. Not pleasant AT ALL at the adoption event where we were told the puppy we picked out would be ready for us to take home THAT day. Misinformation about the age of the puppy, and all medical updates were incorrect. Finally told that someone would definitely call on Tuesday to straighten this all out, and one week later, still no call.
I am so happy to have adopted Siri. We love her so much! Everyone at the rescue is professional and caring towards the animals and the people who want to adopt. Thank you to the people that helped us through the adoption process and the family who fostered our little girl.
