Wines of Australia Grand Tasting

POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO COVID-19

Blessed with incredibly old vines, unique and historic terroirs and an explosion of creative and talented winemakers, Australia is one of the most exciting and diverse wine landscapes in the world. Unfortunately, Australia’s fine wine reputation has been marred by wildly successful, critter labels and uninspiring, over-manipulated, monster truck wines of the ‘90s and early ‘00s. That was then, and this is now. From our vantage point, there’s much to celebrate in today’s Australian wine scene, and it is for this reason, we’d like to invite you to come and taste a wide variety of some of our favorite Aussie wines.

Australia is home to some of the oldest, own-rooted vine material found anywhere in the world.  It is a literal garden of wine Eden as most of their vineyards escaped the ravages of phylloxera. It is not uncommon to find 150 plus year old vines in Australia and even a few that are over 200 years old.  Couple that fact with the new wave of neo-classical producers that brandish a blend of European and Australian traditions, and you can see why were excited to explore this diverse wine continent with you.

Please join us Friday March 20th as we’ll be pouring some of their finest at our free, Grand Australian Benefit Tasting! We will have an ocean of great wine open from storied producers like Tyrrells, Woodlands, Clonakilla, Yarra Yering and Bindi, to exciting upstarts like Luke Lambert, Koerner, Unico Zelo. You don’t want to miss this tasting!

Also, as many of you are aware, Australia has been devastated by wildfires that started in June of 2019 and unfortunately, some continue to burn today.  The “Black Summer” bushfires have burnt an estimated 72,000 plus square miles.  Over a billion animals have been lost and some may be driven to extinction as a result. Thousands of buildings burnt to the ground, and sadly, several vineyards and wineries have been lost. To do our small part, a portion of the proceeds of ALL Australian wine sold during the ENTIRE month of March will be donated to WWF Australia Bushfire Emergency.

So please come out, taste the wines and support a great cause. The tasting is free, but we ask that you kindly sign up on our website here (insert link). We hope to see you there! see you there!
