Mention Larry Stone’s name to just about anyone in the wine industry and chances are they are well acquainted with his work. Larry was one of the first Master Sommeliers in the US, eventually winning the title of World’s Best, and spent several decades working at some of the best restaurants in the country – Charlie Trotter’s, the Ritz-Carlton & Four Seasons in Chicago and Rubicon, just to name a few. He’s one of the most respected and well-traveled guys in the business today, and we’re excited to welcome him to the shop on Wednesday, October 9th to pour some of his exceptional Oregon wines that he’s been crafting alongside his friend Dominque Lafon for the past few years.
Lingua Franca is the culmination of Larry’s life work and one of the most intensely thought out properties we’ve ever encountered. The wines themselves are among the most compelling and harmonious representations of Pinot Noir & Chardonnay being made in the US today. They are made with Burgundian traditions in mind but speak very clearly of their unique terroir in the Eola-Amity Hills appellation of the Willamette Valley. We hope you’ll come join us to soak up some of Larry’s vast knowledge and try a special lineup of his wines from the 2017 vintage.
