About this event

This course focuses on getting comfortable with watercolor painting techniques, styles, and mediums so that you can enjoy the process of creating your own watercolor painting. The basics of materials, tools, techniques, color mixing, and the principles of design and composition will be explored. Topics will vary based on enrollee interest, but landscape, abstract, wildlife, and portrait will all be covered. Enrollees of this course will have numerous paintings that they will create in class to take home or give away.

Skill Level: Beginners and more advanced artists are welcome.

CLASS DATES: THURSDAYS 4/4, 4/11, 4/18, 4/25, 5/2, 5/9 Six Weeks of Classes

CLASS TIME: 6-8 pm

If the instructor has to cancel a class for any reason, a makeup class will be offered.

All Lee County Lifelong Learning classes must meet a minimum student enrollment or the class will be canceled and a full refund will be issued.

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

You will need the following basic supplies for this course.

1. Set of watercolor paints: Liquid or cake pan paints -either will work

2. Set of synthetic brushes appropriate for acrylic and watercolor. A good set will have a multitude of sizes and shapes. Here is a good set on Amazon: https://a.co/d/1w8XJmh

3. One white watercolor palette (with wells)

4. Something to hold water in such as a bowl

5. One roll of painter’s masking tape

6. Masking fluid (optional)

7. Pencil and eraser
