L’Esperance Mandolin Ensemble joins with the CCRI chorus and Choro Amante in the first presentation of the Christmas Oratorio of Handel’s Messiah for mandolins. Handel wrote this work for chorus and orchestra in an extraordinary 24 days. In the nearly 300 years since its first performance, it has become one of the most dramatic and well loved pieces in all choral music.

Join us December 3 at 3:00 at Phillips Memorial Baptist Church in Cranston for this unique performance by a plucked string orchestra in one of the best acoustic settings in Rhode Island.

L’Esperance features musicians from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York and Connecticut of different backgrounds and ages who come together to enjoy the pleasure of making music with each other. Since 1994, l’Esperance has been sharing that joy with audiences around New England. Our music ranges from classical to contemporary, from Celtic to Klezmer, from rock standards to Baroque.

Want to make music with us? L’Esperance gathers Saturday mornings in Providence. We’d love to add some classical guitars. Call 401-345-6930 or email us at josh@lesperancemandolin.com for more information or to arrange a free Try Your Pluck Mandolin Lesson.
