Isak Asare believes Bloomington can be a city that inspires. A city where new ideas flourish. A city characterized by vibrant civic engagement and the spirited exchange of values and dreams. A city that works together to lift up and support one another. A city that breaks down long-held barriers that have divided us. A city that is a beacon of equality, innovation, and justice. A city where you not only survive but thrive and know your generations will do the same. A city that encourages residents and visitors alike to ask “what if?” and “why not?”

Bloomington can be everything we hope for and all we can dream of—as long as we’re willing and able to work together.

Who is Isak Asare?

Isak works at the intersection of emerging technology and global policy. A recognized expert and educator on our digital future, he also lives with leukemia and understands first-hand how policy at the local level can improve residents day to day lives.

Isak brings international experience and expertise to his campaign for city council. He graduated from Indiana University and went on to study at the University of Oxford and University College London. Isak has lived and worked in 10 countries and speaks 5 languages.

He lives with his wife and their sons on the east side of Bloomington.
