Congressman Ciscomani Appointed to House Veterans’ Affairs Committee

January 19, 2023

Congressman Ciscomani will be a Strong Voice for Arizona’s Veterans on this Well-Respected Committee

Congressman Juan Ciscomani has been selected by his colleagues to serve on the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee in the 118th Congress.

This appointment follows last week’s announcement that Congressman Ciscomani will serve on the House Appropriations Committee.

Southeastern Arizona is home to a large number of veterans, two military installations, and the University of Arizona and Pima Community College, both of which attract high numbers of veteran students.

“America’s veterans served our country across the world, and it is an honor and privilege to be able to be their voice on this committee here at home,” said Congressman Ciscomani. “Our veterans are the bravest among us – we owe them a debt of gratitude for their contributions to our safety, security, and freedom. Our district includes two military bases and is home to an incredible population of veterans. Ensuring our veterans and their families have proper access to the benefits and services they have earned is a top priority for me. I’m proud to always stand with the men and women who served our nation abroad to keep us safe here at home.”

The Veterans’ Affairs Committee is responsible for serving America’s veterans and ensuring they have access to the benefits and services they have earned from their military service.

“I’m proud to welcome Rep. Juan Ciscomani to the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, and I am confident that he will serve as a strong advocate for our nation’s veterans,” said Committee Chairman Mike Bost of Illinois. “With years of public service in the Arizona Governor’s Office and local community organizations, Rep. Ciscomani is no stranger to the various challenges veterans, active-duty servicemembers, and military families face. I am excited to have him on board as we get to work for the entire veteran community.”

Congressman Ciscomani was sworn into the U.S. House of Representatives on January 7, 2023. The district covers parts of Pima, Pinal, Cochise, and Graham counties, and all of Greenlee county. It includes the cities of Tucson, Casa Grande, Sierra Vista, Safford, and Green Valley. The district includes two major military installations – Davis-Monthan Air Force Base and Fort Huachuca – and is home to many Veterans of the United States Armed Services.

“Our region is home to a high population of veterans, they’re one of the many reasons why our community is so great. I’m grateful for this opportunity to work for them in the U.S. House,” said Congressman Ciscomani.
