MWR Veterans Transportation Program(ITAMRI)

The Italian American War Veterans of US, a non-profit veteran 501 (c) 19 , 05-6034561 ( Idonations tax-deductible) charitable organization, Veteran Event Transportation (VET) is a FREE -privately funded transportation for veterans living at Rhode Island Veterans Home, nursing homes, and assisted living for special needs of veterans.

For example, one veteran living at a private nursing home could not attend his wife's funeral program because he could not afford estimated $750 dollars for a wheelchair-accessible van transport. If you are unaware, most veterans are left with $50 a month to spend a month while living at a skilled nursing home. More uses of the van will be to transport veterans confined to a wheelchair for VA appointments, veterans living at RI Veterans homes who must pay for transportation for use of private insurance, and transporting veterans to his or her special events fin their lives; weddings, funerals, reunions, and home for the holidays. Many families wish to have veterans home for holidays, and TRANSPORTATION is the only reason many veterans don't go home for the holiday.

Mission will also include providing transportation from Warwick Vets Center gto events like Fly-Fishing. etc.
