Description
Scrapbook of memorabilia from The Wunz, a rock group that formed in 1965 in Asheville, North Carolina, and whose recordings were aired on WLS in Chicago, WOWO in Fort Wayne, WNOX Knoxville, WEAM Arlington, VA, and WHYZ Greenville.
The band members -- students at Lee Edwards High -- were Bob Garner (drums), Coleman Ramsey (bass guitar), Bruce McTaggart (lead guitar), Jim Stover (rhythm guitar and lead singer). Co-managers of the group were Gary Garner, a student at Clemson and brother of Gary Garner, and fellow Clemson student Bill Wolter. Don Taylor was listed as their Booking Agent.
The scrapbook includes a first-person history of the group, photos, newspaper clippings, contracts, correspondence with radio stations and their manager, and a program for the 1966 Clemson Junior Follies, a brochure from Arthur Smith Studios in Charlotte (advertising that James Brown recorded at that studio).
